Spurs made their game in hand over both City and Manchester United count by beating Everton 2-0 on Wednesday to move level on points with the Red Devils, and with City not in action till Sunday Harry Redknapp’s side will be searching for maximum points against Wolves to keep their title bid on track.

Sandro and William Gallas will both miss the game as will club captain Ledley King, while influential midfielder Scott Parker is doubtful as he continues to struggle with a knee injury.

Tottenham’s win over Everton moved them eight points clear of Chelsea, who will be hoping to keep in touch with their rivals above them while making some space below them when they go up against a resurgent Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are a single point clear of Arsenal going into this weekend’s fixtures thanks to a scrappy win against Wolves in their last Premier League outing.

Both Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou are away on international duty and miss the game, while Gael Kakuta has left the club to join Dijon on loan.

Michael Essien moved closer to full fitness after playing 75 minutes for the reserves but is still some way off playing for the first team after a lengthy lay-off.

Manchester United will be desperate to avoid three consecutive Premier League defeats when they go up against relegation threatened Bolton, who could be without Gary Cahill ahead of the centre-back’s move to Chelsea.

United will be without a host of first team players and may have to add Rio Ferdinand to that list after the England international revealed on Twitter that he was suffering with a stomach bug.

Liverpool sit in 6th place, three points behind Chelsea who occupy the final Champions League spot, but will be without Jay Spearing for their game against 8th placed Stoke after the midfielder pulled up in the 1-0 win over Manchester City in the Carling Cup on Wednesday.

In the remaining fixtures on Saturday, Aston Villa go up against Everton at Villa Park, Blackburn will continue their relegation scrap against Fulham, and West Brom face Norwich at the Hawthorns.
